We’re nearly halfway through the year, and what a year it’s been! Our first news is that we have been chosen to receive the Queen’s Award for Voluntary Services. This is the equivalent of the MBE for voluntary groups. The Award is a tremendous honour for all our volunteers who work tirelessly for the charity, and I would like to say a heartfelt ‘thank you’ to them all. Thanks also to you, our customers, for continuing to support our charity- we couldn’t do this work without you.
We’re all rather chuffed about the award. Two of our volunteers (Jonathan Firth & Julie Paylor) have already been down to a garden party at Buckingham Palace. However, the actual award ceremony will not take place until later in the year when the Lord Lieutenant of Lichfield will present us with our certificates and a piece of crystal glass. We will post details in due course.
